Micheal Savoie and I want to let you know about a couple of tools that you should be using if you do any blogging.
Micheal and I are in the middle of My Blogging School‘s launch and we are have a blast teaching new people how to set up their own blogs. We are also fixing people’s blogs, too. I suggest you head over there now and sign up!
Feedbags RSS
First is a site that lets you pull RSS feeds together into widgets that you can post on your own website, blog, Myspace or Facebook profile. There are way more uses for it than what I am describing, but it is very useful if you are planning on adding content to a site, but were wondering how to make it usable.
Go Gators!
Newsgator is a free resource that makes it much easier to use articles, affiliate product feeds or even video feeds in your blogs and social network accounts. The feeds can be controlled based on number of posts and you can even combine more than one feed into a widget. I used this on one of my travel blogs and it really turned out good. You can also change the colors to make it more closely match your website design.
You can access Newsgator’s RSS Widget program by going to:
I especially like it because the Florida Gators football team is heading to Miami for the National Championship! So the Gators are in the News… get it?
Ah, nevermind… back to the content.
PostLater.net
One of the other tools for bloggers is not free, but it is very inexpensive at $9.95 per month. It allows you to post to your blogs at whatever interval you choose, and you can even set your blog posts up to go out on specific dates and times up to a year ahead!
Post Later is the site and it also interfaces with Ping.fm, another amazing tool that you should be using. The most awesome part about http://postlater.net is that you can take a blog post, schedule it to go out on a particular day, then start building anticipation by having Post Later send excerpts from these blog posts along with a link to the post to all of your social networks at the same time. You can get an awful lot of traction by breaking your articles into nuggets that give away content and force people back to your blog to get the rest…
If you are a prolific writer, you can really put Post Later to work for you. You write a years worth of articles for each specific blog and set them up to be broadcast either one per day or every other day. This can really save you a lot of time:
Since I mentioned Ping.fm, I had better tell you a little more about it. This site lets you access blogs, social networks and microblogs from one convenient site. You can update all of your statuses in one post, without logging into all of the social networks, so you are keeping everyone updated consistently. This is great for reaching more people, because not all social networks attract the same people. You may like LinkedIn, because it has more professionals than Facebook… that is not my point, the point is, more people will have access to your message if YOU are on all of those networks, and ping.fm is the way to make certain that your message is getting on those networks!
So hopefully you can see how making use of all of these tools could make your content viral! The more people are talking about you or reading about you, the better the impact you are going to make!
PS – Sal the Site Stealer is at it again. He has devised a way to legally steal sites for you and get you new income streams each month, without you lifting a finger, except maybe for spending the money. If this is something that interests you, go watch the video (Sal is usually entertaining even if you aren’t interested in making money without doing any work)…
Yes… that is Micheal’s affiliate link. We are teaming up.
Tellman got run over by a reindeer,
Running in the streets last Christmas Eve…
You may think there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Tellman, we believe:
He’d been running in the snowdrifts,
And we begged him not to go…
But he’s training for cross country,
So he ran off in the sleet and driving snow!
Tellman got run over by a reindeer,
Running in the streets last Christmas Eve…
You may think there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Tellman, we believe:
It’s not Christmas without Tellman…
Cause he gives us all so much,
Now he’s got a Secret Stocking
And the price goes up with every sale…
Tellman got run over by a reindeer,
Running in the streets last Christmas Eve…
You may think there’s no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Tellman, we believe:
